About The Role!
We are currently looking for a skilled and reliable Glazing Engineer to join our team. If you have experience working with glass and mirrors and take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship, we would want to hear from you.
Position: Glazing Engineer
Location: GNM Suva
Reporting to: Production Manager/Group Chief Executive Officer
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing glazing system shop drawings for structural and code compliance
- Advise on appropriate glass types (tempered, laminated) and sealants for structural performance and safety.
- Perform structural calculations
- Collaborating with engineers to ensure the glazing system meets all requirements and specifications.
- Ensure all installations meet safety standards and building regulations
- Prepare detailed drawings, plans, and blueprints using (AutoCAD)
- Oversee and supervise construction projects from planning through completion
- Review project specifications, schedules, and cost estimates
- Monitor project progress and address risks or delays
- Ensure all drawings and designs comply with building regulations and standards
- Conduct site visits to gather data and assess project feasibility
- Prepare quantity take-offs and assist in budgeting and cost planning
- Maintain project documentation and technical records
- Performing other related duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Proven experience in glass and mirror
- Strong understanding of glazing standards
- Knowledge of glass types, glazing methods, and aluminum systems
- Skilled in using glazing tools and equipment
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD & the ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Experience in project supervision or site management
- Good understanding of construction processes and safety standards
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Good practical skills and attention to detail
- Physically fit, strong work ethic and reliability
